Calendar – Education – Presentation on “Pre-colonization Diet and Indigenous Foods” – Nov. 19

Marquette – Martin Reinhardt, assistant professor of Native American studies at Northern Michigan University, will present “Pre-colonization Diet and Indigenous Foods” on Thursday, November 19 at 7 p.m. in the Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center, located in 105 Cohodas Hall at NMU.

Recent attempts to revitalize traditional indigenous diets include the Decolonizing Diet Project, which originated at NMU. Reinhardt is an Anishinaabe Ojibway citizen of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
