Marquette – U.P. chapters of Trout Unlimited and the Escanaba River Association will sponsor a symposium “The Future of Brook Trout in the U.P.: Issues, Strengths and Threats” on Friday, February 10 from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Brule Room of the University Center at Northern Michigan University.
The information to be discussed at the symposium represents the science-based approach Fred Waara Chapter of Trout Unlimited uses to advance its mission to conserve cold water fisheries in the area. Presenters will include representatives from the Michigan DNR, the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Michigan Trout Unlimited. A panel discussion will follow the presentation.
Admission is free, but advance registration is required. For more information or to register, call Jerome Maynard at 249-3598 or email jerome.maynard@gmail.com.
