Marquette – Residential renewable energy will be the focus of the final seminar of the academic year hosted by the Northern Climate Network at Northern Michigan University. Steve Waller and Ian Olmsted will give the talk on Friday, April 8 at noon in 1318 Jamrich Hall. It is free and open to the public.
Waller will discuss his experience as a member of the Advisory Committee on Efficiency, Renewables and Environment in Alger-Delta County. He will focus on how he has had to change the habits of an electrical cooperative from the inside. Olmsted will address the variety of residential solar options for homes in the Upper Peninsula. He will focus on the most practical, efficient and cost-effective choices for homeowners and share insight on local policy and utility agreements.
The Northern Climate Network is a student-led, campus-wide consortium providing opportunities for faculty, staff, students and community members to discuss and learn about climate change in the local region.
