Marquette, Michigan – March 19, 2016 from 11:00-2:00 at the Marquette Regional History Center Our March Saturday at the Center will be all about orchestras! We will kick off the day with “Orchestral Conducting Demystified.”
Have you ever wondered what a conductor is doing when waving her baton at musicians? Join us at 11:00 for this brief presentation by Janis Shier Peterson, MSO Concertmaster, retired-but-still inspired MAPS orchestra director and active guest conductor. Learn all about the Upper Peninsula Youth Orchestra, as their Directors join us for the day.
Hear a bit of live music and enjoy displays out especially for today. Test your detective skills on an orchestra themed scavenger hunt through our exhibit gallery and try hands on activities such as making a simple instrument. This event day is great for all ages.
