In honor of the 150th anniversary of the decisive battle of the American Civil War, the Peter White Public Library’s Film Club, welcomes the public to a screening of the modern classic film Gettysburg on Thursday, July 18 at 1:00 pm in the library’s Community Room.
Based upon the novel The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara, the film features thousands of civil war re-enactors marching over the exact ground in Pennsylvania that the federal army and the army of North Virginia fought on in 1863. .
Starring Tom Berenger, Jeff Daniels and Martin Sheen, Gettysburg was released in 1993, is rated PG and runs for 271 minutes. Light refreshments will be served.
