Michigan Tech Freshman Makes Nordic Ski Team USA

Houghton, MichiganJanuary 23, 2017 – Amanda Kautzer of Michigan Technological University’s Nordic Ski Team will represent the United States at the Youth World Championships in February. She is a first-year biomedical engineering student at Michigan Tech.

Kautzer recently competed at the youth biathlon trials conducted by the United States Biathlon Association (USBA). The trials were held in Jericho, Vermont, December 28-30, 2016.

Kautzer qualified by placing first in the sprints, crossing the line with a time of 30:10.1.

Kautzer is a youth but also topped the junior field.  She is one of four athletes who will represent the US at the World Championships.
