Celebrate American Wetlands Month at Michigan’s DNR Visitor Centers and Wetland Wonders Locations

May is American Wetlands Month and the Department of Natural Resources will celebrate the wonders of wetlands with a week of wetland-themed programming at nine of Michigan’s DNR visitor centers. Residents and visitors are invited to take some time to experience this amazing native ecosystem with guided hikes and programs featuring wetland habitats and wetland creatures.

Wetlands Week programs will be offered at the following locations:

Wetlands Week programs are part of the Michigan Waterfowl Legacy (MWL), a 10-year, cooperative partnership to restore, conserve and celebrate Michigan’s waterfowl, wetland and waterfowl hunting community. The initiative is a “call to action” to honor yesterday, engage today and build for tomorrow.
