NACF President Jack Lenten said, “In December of 1994, with the help of the Community Foundation of Marquette County, affiliate boards were established in Negaunee and Ishpeming to build and sustain a better community by encouraging its residents, friends, and businesses to invest in the future of our area. Today through donors and investments, the affiliates have an asset base of over $2,000,000. Donations are endowed, so the donor’s gift is never spent, but a percentage of the income generated from investments has been dispersed through grants and scholarships to area non-profit organizations and students”
