Yooper Dance Kicks Off Cabin Fever Days January 26th

MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Great Yooper Folk Dance on Saturday, Jan. 25, will kick off the inaugural Cabin Fever Days sponsored by the Beaumier Upper Peninsula Heritage Center at Northern Michigan University. The dance will feature local traditional music group All Strings Considered and local caller Marge Sklar leading a contra dance at 7:30, followed by the Derrell Syria Project at 9 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for students/kids.

Cabin Fever Days will run Jan. 25-March 22. It is designed to encourage U.P. residents to get out and enjoy a series of events celebrating U.P. culture during the winter months. It is funded in part by a Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs Arts Minigrant administered through the Central Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Regional Commission.
