Marquette – The Northern Michigan University French Club will present a showing of the classic silent film, “La Maison du Mystère (The House of Mystery),” with live grand piano accompaniment, on Wednesday, November 18 at 7:15 p.m. in the Ontario Room of the University Center.
The involved plot of the film revolves around Julien Villandrit and his star-crossed courtship to Regine de Bettigny, which inspires bitterness and jealousy in Henri Corradin, Julien’s long-time associate and secret rival in love. The film is one of the most exciting silent film releases to come along in ages. This is the first time it has been available to the general public since its release over than 90 years ago.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
