Marquette, Michigan – Afternoon Classic Films presents an all ages screening of “Judgment at Nuremberg” starring Spencer Tracy, Burt Lancaster and Maximilian Schell on Monday, September 8 at 1:30 pm in the Peter White Public Library Community Room.
This film is about the trial of four judges who used their offices to conduct Nazi sterilization and cleansing policies in World War II. It has been three years since the most important Nazi leaders had already been tried. The Cold War is heating up and Germany and Allied governments want to forget the past. Whether that the right thing to do is the question that the tribunal must decide.
Released in 1961, this eleven time Academy Award nominee, winning Best Actor for Schell and Best Screenplay, is shown in black and white and runs for 186 minutes.
There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
