Marquette Maritime Museum Maritime Month 2014

The Marquette Maritime Museum in Marquette, MI is proud to announce, in celebration of Marquette’s rich maritime history, its schedule for Marquette Maritime Month August 2014!Events will include:

• Monday, August 4, 2014: Coast Guard Day – The Marquette Maritime Museum is teaming up with USCG Station Marquette to bring you Coast Guard Day 2014. There will be a Coast Guard open house and obstacle course from 10:00am – 4:00pm as well as a Lyle Gus and M16 firing to be held at 4:00pm.

• Wednesday, August 13, 2014: Marquette Maritime Museum Open House – The Maritime Museum will be holding its own open house from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. This open house is free to Marquette County residents and will include light refreshments and a chance to win a free family membership!

• Saturday, August 16 ,2014: Ghost Stories at Marquette Harbor Lighthouse – Special tour of Marquette Harbor Lighthouse featuring ghost stories told by the staff that has experienced them! Event will be held from 6:30pm – 8:00pm at the Marquette Maritime Museum.

• Thursday, August 21 st and Thursday, August 28, 2014: Evening Lighthouse Tour – A special Marquette Harbor Lighthouse tour featuring stories of various keepers at theMarquette Lighthouse, including the light’s only female keeper! Event will be held from 6:30pm – 8:00pm at the Marquette Maritime Museum.

• Saturday, August 23, 2014: Kids Day! – Children 12 and under receive free admission into the Maritime Museum with an adult present. Activities include face painting, pirate scavenger hunt, photo area, dressup and more!
