Shakespeare Readers: Hamlet -Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 6:30 pm

Peter White Public Library  – 217 N. Front St. Marquette

Shakespeare Readers will meet on Wednesday, September 5 at 6:30 pm in the Peter White Public Library’s Shiras Room for a reading of “Hamlet”.

One of Shakespeare’s most powerful tragedies, the play revolves around the revenge Hamlet exacts on his uncle Claudius for murdering the King, Claudius’s brother and Hamlet’s father. Claudius then succeeds to the throne and takes as his wife Gertrude, the old king’s widow and Hamlet’s mother. The play is a vivid portrayal of both true and feigned madness and explores themes of treachery, revenge and moral corruption.

Shakespeare Readers is a group for anyone who is intrigued with reading the works of William Shakespeare. They meet on the first Wednesday of each month at the library and new members are always welcome.
