Marquette – Afternoon Classic Films will present a screening of “Giant” on Monday, March 3 at 1:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
A sprawling adaptation of Edna Ferber’s best-selling novel, this epic film is the story of Texan rancher Bick Benedict, who visits a Maryland farm to buy a prize horse. While there he meets and falls in love with the owner’s daughter Leslie, and they are married immediately and return to the ranch in Texas. “Giant” is the story of their family and its rivalry with cowboy and oil tycoon, Jett Rink, as it unfolds across two generations.
