Calendar – Films/Documentaries – Fall Flicks Presents “Promised Land” – Sept. 12

Marquette – Fall Flicks will present a screening of “Promised Land” on Thursday, September 12 at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

This film is the story of Steve Butler, a natural gas salesman, sent to a rural town to make offers to the townspeople for drilling rights to their properties. What seems like an easy job becomes complicated by calls for community-wide consideration of the offer by a respected schoolteacher and a slick environmental activist.

The film is rated R and runs for 109 minutes. Admission is free, and the public is welcome to bring their own takeout supper.
