Marquette – In honor of Earth Day, the Peter White Public Library and the Marquette Food Co-op will present a screening of “Food, Inc.” on Tuesday, April 19 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the library.
This Academy Award-nominated documentary is a scathing look at today’s agribusiness which produces bigger-breasted chickens, the perfect pork chop, insecticide-resistant soybean seeds, tomatoes that won’t go bad and new strains of E. coli, the harmful bacteria that causes illness for nearly 73,000 Americans every year.
Released in 2008, this highly acclaimed and criticized film is rated PG and runs for 94 minutes. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
