Marquette – Northern Michigan University will participate in the annual Gift of Life Michigan Campus Challenge, an organ and tissue donor drive competition. The NMU Volunteer Center will host registration tables across campus on Monday, February 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Learning Resource Center circulation area; Wednesday, February 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Halverson lobby; and Monday, February 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the air band competition in the Jamrich Hall lobby.
NMU students, alumni and other supporters can register to become an organ donors. The Gift of Life Michigan Campus Challenge is the largest college-based organ donor drive in the nation and has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for its success. In its 13-year history, the Campus Challenge has resulted in more than 38,000 people adding their names to the Michigan Organ Donor Registry. More than 54 percent of adults in Michigan have already joined.
