Strega Nonna Hosts New Year’s Eve Festivities, including 3rd Annual Midnight Meatball Drop

(Negaunee, Michigan) – As the New Year quickly approaches, the culinary crew at Strega Nonna restaurant, 432 Iron Street in Negaunee, Michigan, is preparing for its New Year’s Eve Dinner, Late Night Dance Party, and Strega’s 3rd Annual Midnight Meatball Drop to ring in 2026. Activities begin at 5 pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, and run through 1 am on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

A special New Year’s Eve Dinner will be held prior to the event from 5-8:30 pm, featuring a family-style assortment of Strega specialty appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Reservations are strongly recommended for the dinner portion of the event with optional wine pairing.

Dancing begins at 8:30 – 11:30 pm with local favorite, Flat Broke Blues Band, followed by the Midnight Meatball Drop from 11:30 – 1 am on the patio. Walk-ins are welcome for the late-night portion of the event, including a late-night happy hour beginning at 10:30 p.m.

“We are so excited to host our 3rd Annual Midnight Meatball Drop,” said Rachael Grossman, chef and owner of Strega Nonna. “We have a special dinner lineup and wine pairing to enjoy leading up to the Meatball Drop out on our outdoor patio. Bring your family and friends, a good appetite, and your cold-weather gear, and we will celebrate the New Year right.” Building excitement for the event is Strega’s new magical meatball, Rosalina, who brings her own style of fun and excitement to this year’s event as she uses her magic to create excitement in downtown Negaunee. Through a series of fun Facebook reels, viewers can join along as Rosalina creates an unexpected “Freaky Friday” role switch between Negaunee City Manager Nate Heffron and Strega Owner Rachael Grossman. Will Rachael be able to run the city? Will Nate be able to impress the food critic and prepare for the Meatball Drop? Check out the reels on Facebook to find out!
