CLOSURE OF SOUTH LAKE STREET
On Monday, September 15, 2025, South Lake Street will be closed to through traffic from 8:30am to 6:00 p.m. in order to install sewer and water laterals to 1032 South Lake Street. Residents living south of 1032 South Lake Street will have access to their homes from US41. Residents living north of 1032 South Lake Street will have access to their homes from Hampton Street.

PRESQUE ISLE AVENUE AND FAIR AVENUE STREET CLOSURES:
Beginning Monday, September 22, Smith Construction will be closing Presque Isle Avenue between Waldo Street and Kaye Avenue and Fair Avenue between Presque Isle Avenue and Third Street. A signed detour route will be provided around the closure using Wright Street, Lakeshore Boulevard, Fair Avenue, Third Street, and Kaye Avenue. The closure is required for utility service connections for the new Northern Michigan University apartment buildings. The closure is anticipated to last two weeks during which time access to homes and businesses will be maintained. The public is advised to take caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction and advisory signage.
