Marquette – DocuMonday will present a screening of the 2015 documentary “Country: Portraits of an American Sound” on Monday, July 3 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
With Independence Day coming up, what better way to celebrate than viewing a film on country music, a uniquely American art form. Explore the 80-year history of this musical genre, examining the culture of both the music and the musicians through the photographic lens. Over a dozen country artists including Roseanne Cash, Merle Haggard and Keith Urban are featured with commentary from the men and women who photographed them. The film runs for 1 hour and 28 minutes.
There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
