Escanaba – The early registration deadline for the Michigan State University Extension’s 11th annual Agriculture for Tomorrow conference is on Friday, February 24. The conference will be held on Tuesday, March 7 at the Heirman University Center, 2001 N. Lincoln Road in Escanaba.
The conference is to help U.P. farmers stay informed, up-to-date and profitable. Topics will include protecting crops from weeds, disease and insects, low-lignin alfalfa, using paper mill residuals on crop land, managing crop nutrients, dairy calf housing, passive immune testing calves, beef cattle handling, Veterinary Feed Directive, Military Veterans in Ag, Panel of farmers on Brand and Direct Marketing, Meet MDARD, and Getting to know your local resources. Participants can gain information on farming practices they are currently pursuing, or explore new possibilities.
The early registration cost is $25 before February 24, or $35 after that date, and includes lunch and materials.
