‘Fast Food Nation’ Author Gives Talk at NMU – 11/02/16

Marquette, MichiganNovember 2, 2016 – Author and investigative journalist Eric Schlosser will present “Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal” at Northern Michigan University. His talk begins at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, in 1100 Jamrich Hall. Admission is free for NMU students with ID and $2 for the general public.

Fast Food Nation was Schlosser’s first book. It became a bestseller and helped to start a revolution in how Americans think about what they eat. Chew on This, a children’s book he co-wrote later with Charles Wilson, introduced young readers to the health effects of fast food and the workings of industrial agriculture.

Schlosser is also the author of Reefer Madness, about America’s thriving underground economy. He is an investigative reporter for The Atlantic and a regular contributor to Rolling Stone and The New Yorker.

This event is sponsored by Platform Personalities and the Student Activity Fee.
