Marquette – NMU’s Multicultural Education and Resource Cent will host the presentation of the documentary film “Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North” on Thursday, October 6 at 7 p.m. in the Pioneer Rooms of the University Center at NMU.
The largest slave-trading family in U.S. history was not from the South, but from New England. In this documentary, producer/director Katrina Browne and Hine family members embark on a journey that brings them face to face with the history and legacy of their forefathers’ hidden enterprise. Dain and Constance Perry will facilitate a discussion on race, reconciliation and healing after the screening.
Admission is free. For more information, call 227-1554 or contact merc@nmu.edu.
