Marquette – Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training will be offered on Monday, May 9 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Marquette County Health Department staff presents a one hour training session for ages 12 through adult on how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, offer hope and know how to get help.
Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) is suicide prevention gatekeeper training. A gatekeeper is someone who is equipped to recognize the warning signs of a person who may be contemplating suicide. Learn what to do to help those you love. Gatekeepers can be anyone and does not require or ask a person to take on the role of a mental health therapist or counselor.
There is no admission charge and no registration is required. Light refreshments will be served.
