Jacobetti Home for Veterans to Honor 250 Volunteers During Annual Service Awards Today, April 20th

WHEN: Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.

WHAT: D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans’ 34th Annual Volunteer Service Awards and Banquet.

WHO: James Robert Redford, interim director of the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency; Major General Gregory J. Vadnais, director of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs; Michigan Veteran Health System CEO Leslie Shanlian; DJJHV COO Brad Slagle; and volunteers and honored guests.

WHERE: Northern Michigan University’s Peter White Lounge, 1401 University Center in Marquette.

WHY: DJJHV’s 34th Annual Volunteer Service Awards and Banquet will honor the home’s 250 volunteers for their combined 10,973 hours of service in 2015.

The event will also recognize seven individuals for reaching lifetime volunteer service milestones in 2015, including two volunteers who have given 8,000 hours of service to the veterans who reside at the Jacobetti Home.

The program will begin with the presentation of awards and remarks from Vadnais and Redford. MVAA Interim Director Redford will be available to media immediately following the ceremony.
