Beaver Grove, Michigan – The snowy owl that was rescued in early January in the Eastern UP will be released back to the wild on Sunday, April 3, at 2:00 PM. The release will be at Gentz’s Homestead Golf Course, just off of CR 480 in Beaver Grove.
The privilege of actually releasing the owl was auctioned off to raise funds for the Women’s Center Harbor House. Jen Weide was the high bidder at $600. Jen is excited and so are we. Thanks to all who bid on the right to release the owl and helped make this event a success. We will solicit additional donations for the Women’s Center at the event, so if you didn’t win, you will still have the opportunity to donate to the Women’s Center. For more information about the owl release, contact Jerry Maynard at 906-249-3598; for information about the Women’s Center, contact Beth Casady at 906-869-1237.
