Marquette – Film fans are invited to enjoy a Bring Your Own Meal movie event on Thursday, March 3 with two screenings of “The Martian” at 12:30 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain star in the 2015 sci-fi/adventure/drama about a manned mission to Mars when Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.
The film is rated PG-13 and runs for 144 minutes. The Matinee Movie feature will be shown with closed captioning on for access to all while the BYO Dinner theater will screen with no subtitles. Viewers are welcome to bring their own takeout meal to enjoy in the dinner theater setting. Admission is free.
