Marquette – The Matinee Movie series will offer a screening of “The Grand Seduction” on Thursday, February 12 at 12:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
This Canadian comedy is set a small harbor community in Newfoundland where the residents must procure a local doctor in order to secure a lucrative business contract. When an unlikely candidate and big city
doctor lands in their lap for a trial residence, the townsfolk rally together to charm him into staying. As the doctor’s time in the village winds to a close, the acting mayor has no choice but to pull out all the stops and begin “The Grand Seduction.”
Winner of Canadian Directors Guild and Genie Awards, the film is rated PG-13 and runs for 113 minutes. Matinee Movie welcomes the public to bring their own lunch and enjoy the feature film with closed captioning on for access to all, in a cafe theater setting.
