Marquette – Film fans are invited to a BYO Dinner Theater event for a screening of “Pawn Sacrifice” on Tuesday, January 19 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
In a gripping true story set during the height of the Cold War, American chess prodigy Bobby Fischer, played by Tobey Maguire, finds himself caught between two superpowers when he challenges the Soviet Empire. This drama chronicles Fischer’s terrifying struggles with genius and madness, and the rise and fall of a kid from Brooklyn who captured the imagination of the world.
“Pawn Sacrifice” was released in 2015, is rated PG-13 and runs for 116 minutes. Viewers are welcome to bring their own takeout meal to enjoy in a dinner theater setting.
