Marquette, Michigan – November 13, 2015 – The Northern Michigan University Choir and Madrigal Singers will perform holiday-themed pieces in celebration of Thanksgiving and Christmas at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, in Reynolds Recital Hall in the Hedgcock Building. Admission is free.
The choir will be singing two Shaker arrangements: Peace by Kevin Siegfriend; and Simple Gifts, adapted by Aaron Copland and arranged by Irving Fine. Other American folk songs will be performed such as She’ll Be Coming ‘Round the Mountain When She Comes and Eric Barnum’s arrangement of Panis Angelicus. The Madrigal Singers will be singing Saint-Saëns’ ethereal Christmas Cantata, with orchestra and soloists.
