NMU to Screen Royal Ballet’s ‘Swan Lake’ – Nov. 15

Marquette, Michigan November 13, 2015 – The Northern Michigan University music department will bring a piece of London to campus with a screening of the Royal Ballet’s production of Swan Lake. It will take place at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, in the Jamrich Hall auditorium.

The ballet is about Prince Siegfried, who happens upon a flock of swans while out hunting. When one of the swans turns into a beautiful woman, he becomes enchanted by her beauty and becomes determined to break the curse that holds her captive. Swan Lake has become one of the best-known classical ballets.

This event is funded by the Siril Endowment for the Musical Arts, which seeks to increase student awareness of and appreciation for classical/concert music. This event is free for NMU students. Non-student tickets are $15. Following the broadcast, there will be a discussion in the lobby. For more information, contact the NMU music department at music@nmu.edu or 227-2563.
