Altered Books: Creating Artwork from Your Shelf
Taught by Amber Edmondson, Raja Johnson-Howe, Betsy Rutz, and Nicole Corne.
What are “altered books?” Come find out and work with four artists to create your own! Get your hands dirty in this 3D class where we will explore multiple techniques for altering otherwise tossed-away texts and making them into a sculptural conversation piece. With time in between sessions to let your theme grow, each student will have a personalized piece centering around a theme of your choosing. We will take time to explore themes, techniques, many examples and creative exercises. At the end of three weeks the class will display the altered books in the History Center Gathering Hall.
