Downtown Marquette Farmers Market Opens May 25th

Marquette, MI – The Downtown Marquette Farmers Market opens for the 2019 season on Saturday, May 25th, at the Marquette Commons, 112 South Third Street, in Downtown Marquette. The Saturday Market will run every Saturday through December 14, and is open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The Saturday Market will feature more than 60 vendors throughout the season, selling locally produced food and handmade artisan goods. Live music sponsored by UP North Roast will be performed weekly by a variety of musicians from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Special programming and food demonstrations are scheduled throughout the season.

In addition to the traditional Saturday Market, a Wednesday Evening Market will be held at the Marquette Commons from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm beginning June 12th and will run through September 25th. More than a dozen farmers and artisans will be on-hand for convenient mid-week shopping.

The Power of Produce (POP) program will continue during the Saturday Market this season. Funding for POP is provided by Ishpeming Lions Club, Marquette County ACHIEVE, Marquette Local Food Fest, Negaunee Lions Clubs, Orthodontic Specialists of Marquette, Partridge Creek Farm and Upper Peninsula Health Plan.

The Downtown Marquette Farmers Market accepts cash, credit/debit cards, SNAP benefits, Senior Market FRESH and WIC Project FRESH. Double Up Food Bucks and Hoophouses for Health vouchers are distributed to qualifying customers.
