Marquette, Michigan – November 9, 2015 – UP Health System – Marquette’s Trauma Department and the Superior Health Foundation, in conjunction with Kohl’s and Marquette Mountain, hosted the Kohl’s Cares Heads U.P. on Safety event last Saturday, November 7, at the Marquette Mountain Ski Lodge. Doors opened at 9 a.m. and the safety presentation kicked off at 9:30 a.m.
This free event featured hands-on learning and valuable information for families on ski and snowboard safety. The first 175 children, ages 13 and under, received a certificate for a free ski and snowboard helmet, while the National Ski Patrol personnel provided a ski and snowboard safety program.
Kohl’s has donated $14,845 to the UP Health System – Marquette’s Trauma Department and the Superior Health Foundation as part of its Kohl’s Cares® program. The money is used to support two Heads U.P. on Safety events that are held in the summer and fall, respectively. At these events, children and youth learn proper helmet safety for biking and snow sports, and have the opportunity to receive a free helmet. Kohl’s action team are always involved and present at these events.
Since -2004, Kohl’s has donated more than $234,000 to UP Health System – Marquette.
