Upper Peninsula legislators, including Sen. Tom Casperson, will join State Representatives Ed McBroom, R-Vulcan, John Kivela, D-Marquette and Scott Dianda, D-Calumet, in holding a press conference to discuss the state of emergency that is taking place in communities throughout the U.P. due to the widespread damage and hardship caused to local infrastructure by this winter’s severe weather conditions.
“This winter’s severe weather has punished all Michiganders, but the Upper Peninsula has been particularly hard-hit,” said Casperson, R-Escanaba. “I will be joining my U.P. colleagues in a press conference to bring attention to the burgeoning crisis in northern Michigan to better understand its impact locally, and to better equip us to find ways to address the crisis in Lansing.”
A question and answer session with the media will follow the press conference.
