Marquette, Michigan – November 9, 2015 – The Marquette County Community Fund announced today it will be making financial contributions to 11 community organizations totaling $860,500.
This is the fourth round of grant approvals for the fund which was created in 2012. To-date approximately $4 million has been earmarked for community projects and programs in Marquette County.
“The grant committee appreciates the opportunity to support several community opportunities and programs,” said Matt Johnson, external affairs manager for Eagle Mine. “Awarding these grants will make a lasting change in our communities, allowing for continued growth and sustainability for generations to come.”

The grant fund will support programs such as the construction of a community education/training room at the new UPAWS shelter, renovation of the Ishpeming Senior Center, the Trillium House’s capital campaign, homestead renovations at Burn’s Landing, and several other important community focused projects in Marquette County.
The Marquette County Community Fund was created in 2012 and was initially capitalized at $4 million. The purpose of the Fund is to provide grant funding to community focused projects in Marquette County. This is the last round of grants and concludes the remaining fund balance.
