Marquette – Historian Fred Stonehouse, a recognized authority on the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, will give a presentation marking the 40th anniversary of the tragedy through the Northern Center for Lifelong Learning. The program will be on Monday, November 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Stonehouse will explain the mysterious loss of the 729-foot ore carrier with all 29 people on board on November 10 1975. It is often described as the greatest shipwreck on the Great Lake.
This event will cost $3 for members and $8 for non members. Register before November 9 by calling 227-2979.
