Calendar – Education – Black History Month Lecture “The Myth of American Exceptionalism” – Feb. 16

Marquette – Carter Wilson, head of Northern Michigan University’s Political Science Department, will present the lecture “The Myth of American Exceptionalism” on Thursday, February 16 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in 1322 Jamrich Hall on the campus of Northern Michigan University.

Wilson argues that the progressive intellectual tradition led to improvements related to social inequality and racial oppression, whereas the reactionary tradition enabled and promoted social inequality and racial oppression.

The public lecture is part of Black History Month.
