Calendar – Films/Documentaries – CineArts Films to Screen “Un Reve Americain” – Oct. 9

Marquette – CineArts Films, a series devoted to foreign and independent films, in conjunction with NMU’s Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center, celebrates French Canadian Heritage Days with the movie “Un Reve Americain” (An American Dream) on Friday, October 9 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

Franco-Ontarian musician Damien Robitaille introduces us to the history of French Canadians in the United States. Driving from Montreal to Los Angeles, Robitaille uncovers an almost imaginary society dissolved into American life but still very much alive.

The film was released in 2013, is in French with English subtitles and runs for 96 minutes. Admission is free. BYO refreshments. Call 226-4309 or visit www.pwpl.info for more information.
