Marquette – Vintage Cinema will present a screening of George Stevens’ “The Diary of Anne Frank” starring Millie Perkins, Shelley Winters and Joseph
Schildkraut on Monday, August 3 at 1:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
The plot comes from the personal diary of Anne Frank, a Jewish girl who lived in hiding with her family during World War II. All her writings to her diary were addressed as ‘Dear Kitty’. The diary was published after the end of the war by her father Otto Frank, whose entire family had been killed by the Nazis.
Released in 1959, “The Diary of Anne Frank” is shown in the original black and white and runs for 180 minutes. There is no admission charge.
