Marquette – The Matinee Movie series will offer a screening of “Selma” on Wednesday, July 8 at 12:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
A historical drama, “Selma” chronicles Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s campaign to secure equal voting rights via epic marches from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965. The marches were led by Civil Rights Movement leaders James Bevel, Hosea Williams, John Lewis and Dr. King.
The film is rated PG-13 and runs for 128 minutes. Matinee Movie welcomes the public to bring their own lunch or buy from the library cafe and enjoy the screening in a dinner theater setting. Closed captioning will be on to insure access for all.
