Transition Marquette County Reading Group “Active Hope, How to Face the Mess We’re in Without Going Crazy” Jun 11th

MARQUETTE – The Transition Marquette County Reading Group will hold a conversation about the book “Active Hope, How to Face the Mess We’re in Without Going Crazy” by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone on Thursday, June 11, at 7pm in the Conference Room at Peter White Public Library in Marquette.

Climate change, the depletion of oil, economic upheaval, and mass extinction together create a planetary emergency of overwhelming proportions, with three stories running concurrently – Business as Usual, The Great Unraveling, and The Great Turning. Drawing on decades of teaching an empowerment approach known as The Work That Reconnects, the authors guide us through a transformational process that equips us to play our role in the collective transition to a life-sustaining society.

Anyone is welcome to join the conversation. It would help to have at least started to read one of the books. For more information call 226-3314 or email mqtchaz@gmail.com.
