Baraga – Michigan State University Extension will offer a home-buyer basic workshop to share valuable information about the home-buying process on Monday, June 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Baraga County Courthouse, 16 N. 3rd Street, L’Anse.
Learn how to navigate the technicalities of the mortgage lending and how to avoid costly mistakes.
The workshop will instruct participants on the advantages of home-ownership, the steps in the home-buying process, the costs of home-ownership, the importance of good credit rating, the amount you can afford for a mortgage, the kind of mortgage to obtain, how to select a real estate agent, the importance of homeowner insurance, the documents you will need to sign, and mortgage lending basics.
The workshop is free to attend. Please register by June 19. Preregistration is required to make accommodations for larger groups. Call 524-6300 to register.
