MARQUETTE, MI – This year promises to be another celebration of Lake Superior and it’s environs as Marquette West Rotary celebrates it’s 32nd annual Festival in Mattson’s Lower Harbor Park the last weekend in August. A new tradition has begun with HarborFest’s Thursday night, August 27th “Waterfront Gala”. 250 guests will be treated to surf & turf dinner with beer and wine tastings from Bayside Beverage and Everyday Wines’ connoisseurs under the lighted Gala tent. Music and entertainment will be provided from Double Trouble DJs, catered by Michele Butler of Vango’s and with live auctioneers Mark Canale and Al Hunter! HarborFest’s Friday night live music will kick off with the U.P.’s classic rock groups “GLC”, and “Trailer Hitch”, leading up to headliner“906” http://www.reverbnation.com/906band . Saturday’s crowd will be treated to HarborFest’s classic car and motorcycle show beginning at 9am, with music, food vendors, beer and wine tents and activities beginning at noon with the South Shore Fishing Associations’s live dockside release, kids activities and bouncy houses, an array of musicians like the acoustic duo “Gerry and Alison”, local favorites “Outlawed” and “Chasin’ Steel”, who even played a blue grass version of “Shook Me All Night Long” leading into our headliner AC/DC tribute band, “Night Prowler” last year. Saturday’s cover band headliner “One” promises to bring the house down with their renditions from the “Joshua Tree” like “One Love” and “Where the Streets Have No Name” and even some Zeppelin and Aerosmith songs. http://www.onetheband.com/.
