NCLL Offers Keweenaw Fall Color Tour October 10th

Marquette, Mich. – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will host a tour of the Keweenaw Peninsula Tuesday, Oct. 10, during the peak of the fall color season.

Tour attractions include the Keweenaw National Park Visitor Center, Brockway Mountain Drive, Jampot Bakery, George Gipp Memorial, Italian Hall Memorial and the record snowfall marker. There will be shopping and sightseeing opportunities in Copper Harbor and Calumet, as well as the chance to purchase a cinnamon roll from the Hilltop Café in L’anse.

A pasty lunch at the Hut Inn in Kearsarge is included in the tour cost. Dinner will be at the Pilgrim River Steakhouse in Houghton. The tour will depart at 7:30 a.m. from the eastside parking lot of the Berry Events Center at NMU, and at 8 a.m. from the Jim’s Jubilee Foods parking lot on US-41 in Ishpeming. Fred Huffman of Marquette Country Tours will lead the tour. Gold Stars Tours will provide the transportation.

The cost is $87 for NCLL members and $92 for non-members. Register before Tuesday, Sept. 12, by contacting Huffman at 226-6167.
