Marquette, MI – The final monthly traditional music jam of the season at the Peter White Public Library is on Saturday, May 16 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm in the library’s Community room.
Join other musicians for a community jam session celebrating traditional folk music. Acoustic musicians and singers are invited to try their hand at those great old time tunes by the likes of Peter, Paul and Mary, the Carter Family, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan and others. A limited quantity of sheet music is available for use for those not familiar with the songs.
A music jam is not a performance but an informal gathering for people interested in playing or singing with others who enjoy traditional acoustic music. Listeners are always welcome.
Monthly library jams will resume on September 12 after the summer break.
There is no admission charge to attend the event which is sponsored by the Hiawatha Music Co-op and the Peter White Public Library.
