Marquette – CineArts Films, a series devoted to foreign and independent films, will screen “Fill the Void” on Friday, March 13 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
A captivating love story set in an orthodox community in Tel Aviv. A devout 18 year old girl is pressured to marry the husband of her beloved late sister. Declaring her independence is not an option in Tel Aviv’s Orthodox Hasidic community, where religious law, tradition and the rabbi’s word are absolute.
The film, released in 2012 is in Hebrew with English subtitles and runs for 90 minutes. It will be introduced by Karlyn Rapport from Temple Beth Sholom in Ishpeming.
