Marquette – A FINNtastic February event celebrating Finnish heritage will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 1 p.m. in the Beaumier Upper Peninsula Heritage Center, 105 Cohodas Hall at Northern Michigan University.
Master woodcarver James Lohmann will lead a workshop on the making of the Finnish national instrument, the kantele. Participants will make their own 11-string kantele from a kit. The cost is $250 per person and reservations must be made in advance by calling 227-1219.
