Calendar – Education – Maritime Memories at Marquette Regional History Center – Oct. 4

Marquette – The Marquette Regional History Center will present Maritime Memories on Wednesday, October 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Center, 145 W. Spring Street in Marquette.

Spend an evening with character re-enactors as they tell their stories of serving at the Marquette and Eagle Harbor lighthouses from the Civil War to the turn of the century. You will meet two femalelighthouse keepers, Eliza Truckey and Mary Ann Wheatley, who were monumental for their time. As well, you will meet the first captain of the U.S. Life Saving Service in Marquette, Captain Henry Cleary. Enjoy these compelling Lake Superior stories and hear how their paths intertwine.
