You are invited to attend a press conference on November 20 at 10:00 am in the Citizen’s Forum Room at Lakeview Arena in Marquette. This event will highlight the ten U.P. farms that have achieved USDA GAP Certification via a pilot study sponsored by USDA and the Wallace Center. The U.P. Food Exchange, the farms involved in the project, and the partner agencies that have contributed staff time will all be present to receive their certifications and be recognized for the ground-breaking work that they are doing to pioneer a culture of food safety in their respective U.P. communities. U.P. Food Exchange: This pilot project is sponsored by the U.P. Food Exchange, a partnership between the Marquette Food Co-op and Michigan State University Extension, with support from the Western U.P. Health Department.
